⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Goodwin Hotel in Hartford, CT! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff made us feel welcomed right away and continued to go above and beyond throughout our stay. We were celebrating our anniversary, and they truly made it special by leaving us wine and chocolates with a sweet, thoughtful note. That extra touch meant so much to us and set the tone for a perfect stay. The hotel itself is stunning — the decor is beautiful and thoughtfully done. Our room was immaculate, and the cleanliness was truly superb. Everything felt fresh, spotless, and well cared for. The mattress and bedding were incredibly comfortable, making for an amazing night’s sleep. The location was also perfect — close to great local restaurants, and we were able to find street parking, which meant no parking fees. Having a bar downstairs was a great bonus as well. I highly recommend The Goodwin to anyone visiting Hartford. We will absolutely be back!
Beautifully restored historical building. Quiet location. Close to several nice restaurants and a beautiful park. Nice cocktail bar in the lobby. We’ve stayed here a few times (visiting UConn). It’s a little inconsistent— the rooms have been spotless and other times not, the rooms have been comfortable and other times hot (air not working), the free breakfast has been fine and other times not even worth “free”. Overall I would recommend but with knowing that there could be some issues that the staff quickly attends to.
We stayed here for a wedding. Overall nice and clean. Downsides is you can hear outside noise. The tub drain was broken. And no body lotion or toiletries were in the room. Bottled water is $3, none provided free which even the basic hotels near by provide. Staff is nice and I was able to find free parking on the street over the weekend!
A welcoming a helpful staff! The hotel is simple and elegant. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. The king suite was great for our family of three. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in Hartford center!
Stayed here a couple of nights for a conference. Fairly upscale with decent size room and better than expected amenities. Had them valet park my vehicle and they were able to find a place to plug it in as well - nice tough and much appreciated. Didn't find all that much within a quick walk of the hotel for a dinner or drinks. Probably a real good location for attending an event at the nearby civic center.
Our room was really big and nice. Its somewhat a maze in there but we finally figured it out. Staff are friendly.
Gorgeous room but too cold, as was the Bushnell Theater, after 2 most of relentless heat waves air conditioning was overkill in this lovely September-like day. Fortunately I packed thermal wear, just in case. Lovely appointments, and stellar, friendly service!
The Goodwin is the perfect location for getting ready for a Downtown Hartford wedding! I'm a wedding photographer and had the pleasure of photographing someone get ready here prior to their wedding right down the street (at The Society Room). I parked in the nearby garage and had an easy time making my way into the hotel and up to their area. The Goodwin is beautiful and convenient for weddings. Highly recommended!
